Race explanation / STYREKX
What is STYREKX?
STYREKX is a fitness race with 10 × 800 m running and 10 stations, alternating like HYROX but with a longer list of stations. Next to familiar work on the sled, SkiErg and rower it adds a Load Crawl and the Strength Erg, a chest press until a total weight is reached.

How a STYREKX race works
Run 800 m, complete a station, run 800 m again, ten times. The stations cover rowing, sled push and pull, SkiErg, sandbag lunges, the load crawl, farmers carry, wall balls, burpee broad jumps and the strength erg. The clock runs from start to finish.
Stations and standards
Weights and distances per division are set by the organiser and can change per edition. Check styrekx.com for the current standards. The timer has the standard course ready and lets you edit every station.
How to train for STYREKX
Ten stations means ten transitions: practise running straight after a station. The load crawl and the strength erg are new to most athletes, so learn the movement before you chase a time. A full simulation with splits shows which of the ten stations needs the most work.
Tips for race day
- Keep the 800 m runs even; the race is long and the last stations are heavy.
- On the strength erg, find a rhythm you can hold: every rep adds to the total.
- Crawl low with small steps on the load crawl so your back stays stable.
- Count your wall balls in blocks of 10 or 15 with short breaks.
